Great little ski resort. I am a rubbish beginner but once we were up the top via chairlift I had a go at the blue run which is very picturesque, lined with pine trees and quite wide so I felt fairly safe. I had no choice anyway, as the chairlift won't take you back down, I was told to ski down, and if I got into trouble, they would send someone to rescue me. I managed it alright, and sure enough someone did come to check if I was ok halfway down. My husband is an excellent skier and had a go at several different runs which he said were good, but only for a weekend or a few days as they were not very varied. The resort is very Italian and you need to speak the language really to be able to ski here, unless you bring all your own equipment, then you won't need to ask for anything! The area at the bottom of the chairlift is great for sledging and is free to use, so great if there are some non-skiers in your party. It's also good for beginners like me to practice on before you go up the top. There are a couple of bars here as well. Go only in the week when the car park is empty as at weekends and holidays it's a nightmare; we went on New Years eve when the whole of Italy was at this resort and had to queue to get in the carpark for about 45 mins. The road leading up to it was also full, so be warned. We went back this year in Feb when everyone was at work, and it was great, we had the whole place to ourselves. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit. If you want more serious skiing in the area, try Roccaraso.
