The 24-25 season is underway at Verbier 4Vallées ski season, kicking off today, Saturday, November 16.

“The first snow has covered the heights of the ski area and the heart of the resort, bringing a coat of white that heralds the start of the season and the excitement of putting on skis,” a Verbier spokesperson commented.

Verbier recorded around twenty centimetres (8”) of fresh snow at Lac des Vaux, enough to kick off the season in wintry conditions

The Lac des Vaux slope was ready to welcome winter sports enthusiasts for the first turns of the season Thanks to the recent sub-zero temperatures, Verbier’s snow guns were able to produce, “…quality snow, to offer optimal sliding conditions,” the spokesperson added.

Early bird skiers arriving this morning were rewarded with a coffee and croissant on the first day of the season. A 20% discount is also being applied to the Verbier sector 1-day ski pass on all weekends in November.

Verbier joins the list of Swiss resorts opening at weekend during the month of November. It will be open again next weekend then daily opening is scheduled from November 30.

It joins seven Swiss areas that had already opened: Adelboden, Engelberg, Gstaad (Glacier 3000), Murren, Saas Fee, St Moritz (Diavolezza Glacier) and Zermatt.  Davos plans to open next week on the 21st.
