Residents in New York State Digging out of Historic Snowfall
Western New York state saw exceptionally heavy snow at the end of last week. A massive lake-effect storm moved from the Great Lakes to the Northeast, causing the National Weather Service to issue a special weather warning.
Dry Hill Ski Area, to the east of Lake Ontario (unfortunately not yet open), was one of the resorts seeing the heaviest snow, demonstrating a new enhanced feature of Snow-Forecast.com: historical snow. Snow enthusiasts can now scroll backwards in time to view past recent weather conditions. Having access to information such as whether heavy snow is followed by strong winds or temperatures above freezing can help inform snow sports enthusiasts in their choice of where to go.
