The Bug provides protection through an ‘overlapping shell’ system, with an ABS outer shell which protects against sharp objects and an in-mould polycarbonate/EPS inner shell for shock absorption.
It’s easy to adjust the fit through a slider at the rear of the helmet, and you can control the temperature via eight adjustable vents; unfortunately, you have to remove part of the liner to do this, which is a bit of a faff compared to the on-the-go adjustment many helmets offer.
The ear pads and neck roll can both be removed on warmer days, as can the liner for cleaning, and the Receptor Bug comes in a range of eleven different colours so whether you like blingy (acid green) or bland (black) you should find something to suit.
