USA Report
More snow has fallen across Western North America, with snowfall reported in Arizona, California, and Colorado, as well as in Alberta and Eastern BC. This marks the third or fourth snowfall event this month, and Utah’s slopes recorded their first snowfalls of the 23-24 season. With just five weeks remaining before the first scheduled North American resort opening of the 24-25 season, Banff’s Mt Norquay is aiming for a 1st November opening. Some high ski areas in Colorado and other regions, known for their reliable early snow cover, will aim to open before the end of October. Several resorts have their snowmaking systems ready to go.
USA Forecast
The forecast for the week ahead is mostly sunny, with daytime highs in the 50s and 60s, even in high-altitude areas of the Rockies. Overnight lows will drop to just a few degrees above freezing, but snowmaking is unlikely to begin for at least another week.
