USA Report
Two US centres remain open with everywhere now closed in Canada. They are Oregon’s Timberline (18/120” / 45/300cm), which usually stays open until August, sometimes early September, and Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin (4/32” / 10/81cm), which is in the final week of its long 2023-24 season that began nearly eight months ago. It says that this coming weekend will be the final one of its season. It’s currently closed midweek, opening Fridays to Sundays. Most of the past week has been dry and sunny, with temperatures climbing up into the 60s Fahrenheit in the afternoons. There is, though, one Colorado area planning to stay open right through the summer. Copper’s hike-to summer terrain park, mostly used by campers at their Woodward facility, is just starting its 2024 season. The park has its largest-ever footprint and 12 features and is open to the general public from Fridays to Sundays, the resort says.
USA Forecast
Continuing mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from the mid-30s to the low 50s Fahrenheit. A little cooler to end the week, with the potential for overnight temperatures up high to dip below freezing again and a chance of some light snowfall.
