Jackson Hole’s First Ever Quad Chairlift Being Upgraded To Fast New Quad

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s (JHMR) first ever quad chairlift, Sublette (or "Subby" to its powder day friends), will be upgraded this summer to a state-of-the-art fast new lift.
The famous Wyoming ski resort say they are sticking to a quad chairlift though, it’s just that the new sublette will whizz up the slopes in just four minutes, compared to the roughly 11 minutes of its fixed-grip predecessor.
Subby accesses intermediate and expert rated terrain located below the resort's famous cable car (tram).
The new Subby, will be Jackson Hole’s sixth high speed quad and its second new lift in as many seasons, following the Thunderhead quad installation in 2022. The former POMA built fixed grip quad was installed back in 1987.
Jackson Hole’s 23-24 season started slowly like most North American ski areas due to warm weather and limited early season snowfall. However things picked up as the season progressed and it ended up the longest in the resort’s history at 143 days, thanks to a week long extension to 14 April to make the most of all the late season snowfall.
“Despite an extremely slow start to the winter season, JHMR received 447 inches of snow … approaching our 10-year average of 458 inches. Our guests who skied and snowboarded with us this winter were able to see what makes the resort so special: limited crowds, amazing terrain, and a wonderful experience on snow,” said JHMR President Mary Kate Buckley.
