In celebration of International Women’s Day in the Italian Dolomites, the ski resort of Val Gardena, is planning to stage a Dirndl Ski Day fun event for women on 8th March 2025.
The day will see a women-only parallel slalom with all participants wearing a ‘dirndl’ - a traditional South Tyrolean dress.
The event will be the 3rd edition of the Dolomites Dirndl Ski Day and will take place from 10am on the resort’s Seceda sector, with race headquarters at the Daniel Hut where a post-race aperitif will be served along with snacks, and there’ll also be a DJ performing.
The race is open exclusively to women competing as a pair (friends, sisters, mother/daughter etc.) between the ages of 18 and 99.
After the racing, the event will continue at the Café Val D‘Anna, where the band “The Giggers” will perform from 3pm onwards. The awards ceremony will follow at 4:00 pm.
“Wearing a Dirndl is what gives this event its special charm!” A Val Gardena spokesperson said.
