  • Resorts like Hakuba’s Happo One and Niseko boast some of the world's deepest snowpacks, with Niseko having 100% of its terrain open.
  • The forecast predicts continued snowfall in Nagano, with daily accumulations of 10-30cm, promising over a metre of fresh snow in the coming week.

JAPAN REPORT

Snow depths took a dip in Japan at the end of last week as the earlier heavy falls settled, but many areas saw heavy snowfall again through the weekend, with temps staying between -7°C to -11°C, keeping the slopes in prime condition. Groomers are smooth, and there continues to be plenty of powder on the sides for adventurous riders. Winds have been generally moderate, with occasional gusts up to 30 km/h occasionally causing issues at higher elevations. Most centres remain fully open with the world’s deepest snow cover. Hakuba’s Happo One (85/360cm / 34/144”) continues to post one of the world’s deepest snow packs. Niseko (115/265cm / 36/106”) continues to have 100% of its terrain open.
