Copper Mountain has announced it is extending its ski season into May for the second successive year.
Copper Mountain has announced that it is extending its ski season into May for the second successive year.
After April 28, Copper says their American Eagle, Excelerator, Super Bee and Storm King lifts and associated terrain will remain open. As for terrain parks, the Superpipe will remain open plus a hike park in the base area.
The usual season ending Sunsation and Slush Rush are still going ahead on what had been intended as closing weekend on April 27-28.
Four other Colorado ski areas – Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Loveland and Winter Park are also expecting to stay open into May.
Like Winter Park, Copper say they’ll stay open “for as long as conditions allow” and has not named a revised closing date.
“Thanks to our elevation and slope aspects, we've been able to retain a solid snowpack into the late season. To put it simply...the gettin's still good,” a resort spokesperson said, adding “Springtime in The Rockies just doesn't get any better than this.”
